Yes I know I'm a wolf and I've been known to bite, But I'm telling you that you'll be safe with me
Welcome
Hello potential student and/or teacher!! Before you begin, there are a few things your had better know right away.
First, Whispers in the Dark is an alternate universe Vampire Knight rp. Meaning, we are based largely upon the anime, but we've expanded the world in a pretty big way and we just don't feel comfortable claiming it can be in the same universe as the original.
Secondly, there are only original characters here. There should be a certain equality among our student body and to achieve that, we feel everyone should play their own character and not one designed to be the star of the show. We are all the stars of our own show.
And finally, we are rated PG-13. We know our limits, but we love to use them to the fullest.
Your pre-orientation is now complete. If we seem like the place for you, check out the plot and the rest of the rules and don't be afraid to ask us anything in the cbox!
Very sorry, but purebloods and alphas are banned to beginning members. Once you have at least one character and show us you keep it active, please feel free to post a pureblood or alpha character to be considered.

Year One, First Semester

Winter
The school has finally opened its doors to the... well, it's not so public yet.
All students are here by invitation only for now. Why? Because Cross Academy is a school unlike
any other... and not just because their school year begins in winter. Grades levels
(meaning freshman, sophomore, etc.) don't really matter much here. After all, the
students aren't just here to learn. We're all here to try to coexist. That's our main
priority. Teaching kids as we do it is just a bonus.
adjective - Having a smooth, rich flow; filled with something (such as honey) that sweetens.

We are hard at work redoing everything for WITD. It's been years and we are all older and wiser now, so it's time to give this site another shot! Let's get this thing back open!!
The vampires have struck the school! A group of fifty or so ex-humans have begun the assault on Cross Academy. Day class students have been instructed to stay indoors, with the headmaster mobilizing the hunters to protect the school dorms. The werewolves were put into action immediately, roaming the grounds in pairs to track down and, hopefully, eradicate the level e monsters. However, some human students are still being round up. Will they make it in time, or will there be casualties? With all this commotion, there is little room for error, so the vampires are being instructed to pair up as well and escort the Day Class students until they can reach a safe location. Of course with the Level E’s sharp thirst for blood, they can only sit back and pray there will not be any student harmed. Vampires, wolves, and hunters are running in every direction to help keep control of the school, but there are so many attackers it appears the humans will be overrun without taking out the ex-humans.
This isn’t the time for forming a game plan. It’s time to take back the school.

Pure havoc. Seth wasn't a fan of havoc or anything with lots of people running around. He wasn't really a fan of crowds either. So it was a wonder the werewolf was even there at all. Though of course it wasn't like he could just skip or anything. This was serious business. The school was under attack by monster vampires. Heck, that was reason enough to come. If they actually succeeded in bringing down the school where would he end up.
Not to mention he didn't have to take those dang pills today. So there he was shifted and waiting in the courtyard like a good little puppy that came for his master. Of course, he wasn't as calm as he sounded or acted. He knew he wasn't alone on this journey. He would have to work with vampires and hunters alike. Maybe even other wolves. He didn't even know who some of the people were. Except one. Elessa. He knew her. He had met her on accident one night and he had to admit he liked the little vampire.
He shook his massive head. He knew he had to keep all of those thoughts out right now. The school depended on it. Instead he moved to a slightly hidden spot to wait for the others and to stay out of sight of any humans still wondering around. After all it was his job to protect them. But even if it wasn't, he wouldn't be able to stand himself if he at least didn't try to do something to help. Vampires were attacking and now was the time for all the supernatural students to do their part to protect the school and all their fellow classmates… that was all fine and dandy except for one tiny, itty bitty flaw… the wolves had been give orders to shift and remain in their wolf forms throughout the entirety of the battle.
Taboo, as a human was sweet, she wanted to do her part and to help like all the others… but her wolf was dangerous! Once in that form, her persona would shift. On four legs was the wolf’s territory, not hers. It would take over, just like it did every time, and there was no way she would be helping anyone… but the orders were clear… there was no avoiding it.
With her change from woman to wolf came a madness that she couldn’t shove down. It was suffocating and exhilarating all at once and the human soul was quickly smothered. Perhaps they should put her out of her misery. Being Mooncalled was like living in hell. The beast wanted control, but once it got it, there was too much; it couldn’t handle the weight of leading the body and went insane with power.
Her paws hit the pavement of the courtyard, but the bitch couldn’t feel it; her body was numb to the world. Yellow optics glided along the team she was supposed to be part of. Pathetic, insignificant creatures; the vampires could take them… or Taboo herself could eat them… that was a curious thought. How would they taste, she wondered. Would the vampires get to them before she did?! Oh no, that wouldn’t do.
A Growl erupted from her throat at shadow people, creatures she imagined up that were stealing her food, killing her teammates. NO!! That was her food!! She would not let them have it!!
Snapping her jowls, Taboo loomed on the edge of the courtyard, waiting for her chance to strike… whether her attack would be aimed at friend or foe, she wasn’t yet aware. The wolf did not discriminate, it’s hate was large enough to be shared amongst everyone.[/style][style=background: #77AFB5; width: 442px; border-bottom: 10px solid #FFFFFF; width: 447px; font-family: georgia; font-weight: bold; color: #DAECF6; text-shadow: #000000 2px 1px 2px; font-size: 15px; text-transform: uppercase;]Template made by Memzard of OTE[/style][/blockquote]

No matter how much Nicola had been out of the game, that instinct; that was like second nature was always going to be there. The night before she could sense the uneasiness in the town on her way home. Something was telling her to be ready, be prepared for the worse. The last time she felt like this was during her last hunt, that instinct had saved her life that day...among other things. She drank most of the night while she refreshed her memory on how to fight. She had hoped by morning that feeling would be gone; guess it was a good thing Nicola never got her hopes up.
The next morning she arrived at the school still feeling what she felt last night. In her bag she brought with her an old friend, Caccia; a pair of gloves that had helped her in many hunts in the past. An anti-vampire weapon that had been made for her by her family; they still fitted her even though it had been a few years since she last wore them.
She barely got to the infirmary and placed her bag down when she got the call. Get to the courtyard.
Nicola didn’t waste any time. Throwing her jacket on the floor she pulled out Caccia and out them on. The spikes on her knuckles were still sharp which she was indeed thankful for. Nicola grabbed a bottle of wine and a first aid kit before she made her way to the courtyard, weaving in and out of the chaos that had erupted. Along the way she drank the bottle as quickly as she could. She learnt long ago that being a hand to hand specialist she was going to get hit a few times and pain was what was going to hold her back. At least with the alcohol now in her system it would numb some of that pain.
As she got to the courtyard she looked around to see where her team was. There was already one there waiting, a wolf so it was impossible for Nicola to know who it was until they shifted back. Turning around she caught glance of another, staying out of sight in case any humans came this way.
Nicola wasn’t exactly dressed as a school nurse either, she was wearing a pair of three quarter black jeans and a white singlet top that reveal the scars of her last hunt. One across her back and another across her chest. Her hair was out, only tied up at the very end of her long brown hair. “Is this all we have?” Nicola asked the two of them, her Italian accent as thick as ever.

And not the good kind either.
She had just been informed to retreat back to the school by a police officer when the streets were in chaos, she had barely bad it back without getting trampled. The young girl gave a small pant as she finally made it to the courtyard, and thats when she noticed that..it was empty
She felt froze for a second, as if time itself had stopped; the last time she was this alone..but..there was a feeling, something else..someone else was here. She glanced off to the sides to note what exactly she was feeling. Kind of hard to miss the giant wolves off to the sides. She bit back the urge to call out to them, something more sinister was here. She didn't want to move as the Hunter came by. Natsumi's now red eyes glancing around nervously, she would stay hidden for now, keeping her eyes around the area. Fearing that if she took a step her head would be lopped off.
The hunter spoke to the wolves about being low in numbers, Natsumi was still well hidden behind the fountain, her long purple hair now tied up. What was that sense? Her eyes closed as she tried to pin point it exactly, grabbing her necklace as she began praying softly.[/style] [style= text-align: center; font-family: verdana; letter-spacing; 1px; color: 666666; font-size: 8px]TAGS event COUNT 208 NOTES Wooot~! coded by JIN of PRE & BTN[/style]

A few level E’s that had snuck on to the property crouched down next to Natsumi, thinking that she was one of their kind. They thought that she was safe to be near, and was also plotting the demise of those standing around in the courtyard. There were two wolves, threats to their existence. They would need to get rid of them first. A team launched themselves at the two, trying to remove them from the fight first and foremost, thinking them the worse threats in the approximate area. However, a few threw themselves at the others that were scattered about. They weren’t in a tight ring, they made themselves open for attack and now they were practically on their own.
Fight off the level E’s on your own? Or try to make the group stronger?

She smelt it even before she’s tossed open the dorm room curtains and threw open the window. The breeze from the town brought in the strong scent of blood that had kept her inside that night but she could no longer keep hiding. It was dangerous for Elessa to be out right now. Well, not for her, but for anyone else too close if the scent got to her. But, how could she just keep ignoring the fact that people were dying?! Frustrated, she ducked back into the room, tarring through her dresser. A pair of jeans shorts, her black riding boots and a long sleeve grey shirt would have to do. She should be fine outside, even if she didn’t have a weapon.
She didn’t hesitate to flee the room once she was done, her cell phone tucked into her shorts, a text still shown on the screen. The school was being targeted. Though she wasn’t a fighter, she could do something. She was sure! Not wanting t take the long way, she cut through the forest, jogging through the brush before crossing behind the school building, jumping some hedges, into the court yard, skidding rather uncoordinatedly to a stop, spying one of the school employees, but their were others, whether she could see them or not.
The dark haired teen went to question exactly what was happening right now, but the words never left her lips. Instead, he head jerked to the right, watching with wide grey eyes as a Level E came flying from the shadows. She was too far from the others. The had made themselves targets. She should have moved. Dodges, ran, done something. But she froze. Time seemed to go so slowly as the crazed creature dove at her, bright red eyes locked on her frozen from. The scent of blood on it was all too familiar, as was the feeling of helplessness.
She remembered that night vividly. The dark path she’d walked a hundred times, the sudden feeling that she wasn’t alone. That someone, or something was watching her. His large canine body, as big as a average day horse hid within the shadows easily. The black of his fur blending in quite well. Only pieces of his fur stuck out, patches of white that was scattered across his body.
He heard them and they seemed to scatter and come his way. It meant that others were going for the other wolf. He had to protect himself after all. There was a point that you knew how valuable another persons life was. He would finish his quickly and then go after the other wolf to help but, as he took his position to attack another smell came at him. One that was familiar and distant yet. He had never smelled her in his wolf form, but he knew it was her. His head spun around as he saw her appear.
He growled low in his throat and bolted into the opening. She was just standing there! Why wasn't she moving! He ran, hoping to be a little faster than the level E's. He growled low in his throat as his big form leaped over her small one slamming into whichever level E had come after her. He growled baring his fangs and tore at the vampires throat for a quick kill or what he hoped was. He jumped back immediately after he had struck towards her side. The mind of a mooncalled werewolf had potholes. It that caught them and once there, they sunk like quicksand; the wolf grabbed them by their feet and jerked them under. One of the hardest things imaginable was to be at war with yourself… in the middle of an actual war. Snarling at herself, the wolf quieted her human soul. It was growing weak… soon it wouldn’t be able to hold her off at all. The body would belong solely to the dog.
A wicked smile slithered across her maw and she licked her lips. Yellow pools had been staring at the grass beneath her feet, but when she looked up to spy on the people who around her (taking note on where her prey was slipping around to), Taboo saw them. The sneaky bastards were flying at her! They wanted her meat-sacks, she just knew it! There was no way, no way at all, that that was going to happen!
Fangs bared, she leaped at her assaulters, grabbing on by the head, the bitch pinned him to the ground with her paws on his middle and thrashed her head. Death came swiftly to him, but that didn’t stop her. Taboo continued to gnaw and bite at him even after his body went limp, even after another vampire jumped upon her back. It was only when its nails dug into her flesh that she turned her attention away from the carcass.
Clamping down on his arm, she slung him from her back, tossing him out before her. The bloodsucker righted himself, hissing at her, but the werewolf retorted with an aggressive snarl. Neither moved, both waiting for the other to attack.
A standstill.
“If only you were worth my time.” Taboo eventually growled at him, but when she moved, it wasn’t toward him. With a swift move, she propelled herself at Natsumi (the fawn of their rat pack), leaping at the level E’s before they could have a taste of the flesh that belonged only to her.[/style][style=background: #77AFB5; width: 442px; border-bottom: 10px solid #FFFFFF; width: 447px; font-family: georgia; font-weight: bold; color: #DAECF6; text-shadow: #000000 2px 1px 2px; font-size: 15px; text-transform: uppercase;]Template made by Memzard of OTE[/style][/blockquote]
She looked around, a group was going after the wolves that were here with her and only some were scattered about. This was no walk in the park, this fight was going to get bloody and fast. Though her mind was going through a way to push these creatures back, her body moved on its own and her actions would probably surprise those who were with her. She drank the rest of the half drunk bottle. The Italian red wine tasted divine but now was not the time to think about how old it was or the brand.
Nicola finished it, gave a little hiccup as she let her arm rest by her side while she looked up at the sky. As a level E that was separate from the group approached her, she turned her attention to it. Glass shattered as the bottle came in contact with the Level E’s face. “*Merda capi!!” She called out, her Italian just as thick as if she had only just came over from her country.
Now this was going to be a slight problem. Whenever Nicola was excited or angry she had an habit of speaking her native tongue and forgetting Japanese. How was she suppose to call for help if no one could understand her? This fight was going to get a lot harder due to lack of communication.
The Vampire she had thrown the bottle at seemed pissed and charged after Nicola. As it reached out to grab her she countered it, grabbing hold of his wrist and twisting it. The glove had come in contact with his skin and it howled in pain, the Anti-vampire weapons were going to come in handy this time around. While one wrist was held down, she curled her free hand into a fist, back handing the vampire across the face. Normally it wouldn’t have done much but with the spikes on her knuckles it tore along his flesh and he once again cried out in pain.
Nicola only glanced back for a moment, one of the werewolves were heading near...a human? So a student was still out? This was not good. Nicola turned her attention back to the vampire she had in her grasp. It was holding its face with his free hand, it must have hurt a lot even for a level E to hold its attack for a moment.
She twisted its wrist until she heard the snap. Letting go she delivered a series of punches, each one making the vampire scream. It couldn’t bear the touch of her gloves, not to mention each time she pierced through its skin. “**Non propagazione!” Nicola called out not thinking anyone wouldn’t understand what she was saying.

She glanced back to note that..they weren't attacking her, they were following her? What..the..?
Then some huge wolf flew over her and began attacking the vampires, for a minute Natsumi was about to stop the Mooncalled before she realized that she needed to get the hell out of there. With a shout from the Italian lady, Natsumi had bolted with no intention of stopping. She wanted to find her friends, Amakusa, Tsuki...she needed to find her boyfriend and fast!
Looking back, she noted that one had slipped away and was chasing her, Natsumi's heart began to beat like a race horse as she turned back forward and did not stop running worth anything. Her feet pounding against the ground as she exited the Courtyard and headed straight for the Town. Maybe not the best idea she's had, but at least this way she could possibly slip away from the vamper.
With Natsumi disappearing from the scene with the vampire, she seemed to grow a bit more bolder when she turned to face the Level E. With his fangs bared, a small grin on his face, she just smiled back and picked up a broken piece of pipe hidden in the alleyway. The two were at a stand off, the vampire unsure if he should attack someone who looked just as insane as him, and Natsumi trying to look as convincing as possible despite her heart hammering in her chest.
Without another thought, the vampire jumped to attack, Natsumi didn't expect him to be so fast, but like a baseball bat, she swung and heard a sickening crack! coming from the skull of the vampire, he fell back. Natsumi didn't seem to look again because she was off running back into the town, pipe gripped in hand. It was when she realized it was covered in blood that she dropped it to keep from other Level E's from spotting her.[/style] [style= text-align: center; font-family: verdana; letter-spacing; 1px; color: 666666; font-size: 8px]TAGS event COUNT 340 NOTES Wooot~! coded by JIN of PRE & BTN[/style]

The shadows were always a best friend to the creatures of the night, and especially on this day to the Vampire in a hunt for blood. Whether it may be from the ceiling, walls, pillars, they all bared shadows but they also had another thing, Vampires. A few Vampires were crawling on the ceiling on their way to back up their brethren at courtyard, above in the hallway, when they just stumbled upon a human girl that was running from a corpse of their fallen brethren. It was a chance for revenge and a snack, why not? Back at the courtyard itself, the group of Vampires hears the cries of their brethren being beaten by the trio that stood in their way, they angry and more focused to fest on their flesh than ever before. The majority of the group instantly came out of hiding to overwhelm them all, half of them focused on the Hunter and the Wolf. The other half was spread out even more while one part went after the Human girl the other part went after the distracted wolf.
The Vampires are putting pressure on you all; can you really be certain that your individual goals may save you? Or, will they erase you like the rest?

AS deep, threatening growl. But, to her, it wasn’t so threatening. For some reason, it sounded… different. She had heard a werewolf growling at her before, this was different. Suddenly, time caught up to her and she threw her arms over her head, ducking down slightly as she squeezed her eyes shut, the large form leaping over her and attacking the creature that had been coming at her. She heard a sickening crush, teeth grinding through skin, muscle and bone, and the distinct splatter of bloods hitting the ground long before she opened her eyes and took in the site.
The werewolf was of massive sizing, though they all seemed rather big to her tiny form, It leapt back to her side. She should have been scared of it, but she wasn’t. There was just something so familiar. Even as it growled lowly, keeping close to her, she knew she was safe with it… Him. Realization set it. She knew who this wolf was. At least, she thought she did. ”Seth?” She didn’t have time to confirm as the older women shouted at them in a language she didn’t understand, but it brought he back to the situation. Elessa couldn’t let herself freeze like that again, or stay unarmed.
She raised her left hand to her mouth, parting her lips and using a finely pointed fang to pierce the skin of her thumb. A single drop of blood welted up, which she smeared across the bangle on her opposing wrist. The silver bracelet shimmer and shifted, cool metal heating as it morphed into a sharp, long bladed dagger. She held it tight in her right hand, looking up as more came their way. Raising the blade, her hand trembled slightly. Could she really hurt one of these creatures, knowing she was so close to becoming one of them? Her eyes flashed crimson for a moment but she quickly shook her head, the smell of blood in the air… She could practically taste in. Subconsciously, her free hand reached out to the wolf at her side, finger tips barely brushing his fur.[/style](WORDS) 370 (TAGS) team terra (NOTES)(SONG)You Stupid Girl by Framing Hanley (CREDIT) template made by oxymoron! of back to neverland

A feeling that despite the fact that he was a wolf, he had never killed before. It was a story that he didn't tell many. Even in his pack when he had been taken away from his parents, not once had he ever killed or thought of killing. He knew the alpha blood that ran through him however, hated the vampires, that fact he could not hide. But, he had never killed someone, or wrapped his jaws around the throat of another and crunched until all life drained from them.
He had wondered, if he would be able to do it after all. If he could take the life from another creature. He had never thought of himself as someone with that much power to take life whenever he chose to do so. He was not god, nor did he claim to be any form of that higher power. But now, was this thought of killing okay? He would have pondered it more, if this had not have been a life or death situation. People could die here, innocent people, that he possibly could have met. Humans that had no idea of what was going on around them.
So, the minute someone was in danger, preferably someone he knew, the feelings were shut out of his mind. The alpha wolf, snapped at the vampire ending its life. No one, no matter who they were would harm someone he cared about, even if he had to put his life on the line to do so. It was something he promised there and now. He slightly wondered in the back of his mind, if she would be afraid of him now. A ferocious side of him that seemed to have killed with no remorse to the life it could of had. He wondered if he had possibly hurt her emotions this way.
There was no time to think on it now. If he had to, he would apologize later. He wasn't going to second guess himself. If it came between the vampire dying and her.. the vampire would die. His mismatched eyes caught hers and he noticed that she didn't seem to be as afraid as she thought he would be. She seemed to realize just who he was as his names graced her lips. His form which was just as big as her or possibly larger, moved closer to her slowly. "Seems you got it right on the first try." his words came.
He didn't know how he sounded to others in this form. He had never tried it before. Normally he only communicated with other wolves like this. He wondered if it sounded like he was talking right into her mind. He would have to ask her about it later. There wasn't time now after all. He growled a little at the vampires that seemed to draw near and could tell that elessa didn't want to do this. But who could blame her? These creatures, they were only a step from where she was. Seth would be damned before she turned into one of them though. He wanted to be a reason why she lived if anything.
He felt her hand in his fur and the slight shaking of her body. "You don't have to do this Elessa.. I can fight them in your place. Its your choice.. but if you don't .. i would be more comfortable with you on my back so I'm never away from you. I will protect you.." he spoke calmly. His hackles raised though and he bared his fangs as more started coming at them. He noticed the others separated, but there was another wolf here right? He didn't have time to worry about the others as his giant horse sized form moved and snapped at the next vampire to come close.
He was ready to kill, if only for her.. that was all his mind thought about. Perhaps.. it would ease the guilt he knew would follow later. More and more, they were like bees drawn to the sweet scent of the red liquid now staining the cobbled stone ground. Those things, the buy product of a pureblood’s carelessness now stacked up in numbers against you and your team. The huntress had been right, if only her orders had been… understandable, more or less spoke in clear English or Japanese for all who cant understand Italian.
More and more of them gathered right around you, until one managed to get behind the young Level D with her mouth opened wide. Those vicious little fangs all aiming for the vampire’s throat, might want to duck dear…. Wouldn’t be pretty if you get bitten by this thing… what about the huntress and wolf? Well… One vampire lunged foolishly at the wolf in an attempt to weaken it while three gathered around the teacher.
