Despite everything happening around them, despite the thick sickeningly delicious scent of blood in the air, Elessa smiled at him. She didn’t know how she knew, she just… did. It had been a while since they’d first met in the ballroom, but she remembered it very clearly. There was a reason they had encountered one another, accepted each other so easily. What they reason was, she may never know, but she had been glad. Most avoided her for what she was, what she would become and here Seth was, protecting her, standing at her side. It made her feel so much better, so much safer… ”I’m so glad to see you,” she spoke quietly, inching a little closer to the giant wolf that was actually about the same height, maybe taller than she was, with his head lifted. Elessa wasn’t a very tall girl, even standing next to Seth in his human form, she was the shorter one. She didn’t mind of course. Seth didn’t intimidate her, even when his muzzle and teeth were stained in crimson. All she felt was comfort. ”I’m so happy you’re safe…” For now, her mind added silently though she ignored it. They would both be fine now, right? The dagger felt light in her hand but, at the same time, heavy. Was it the remorse she felt, or guilt? She could do this, she had too. If she didn’t, she’d be nothing more than a moving target, and that would put Seth, and everyone, in danger, having to protect her. She swallowed the lump in her throat, shaking her head slowly, attempting to build up courage she wasn’t even sure she had, or could use. Elessa looked to Seth again, too focused on him to notice the danger behind her, slowly closing in. ”I-I’m alright. I can…” He sentence cut off when she finally felt it. But it was too late. She whirled around but she wasn’t quick enough. Hand’s snatched at her, Elessa caught too off-guard, letting the blade slip from her hand, falling harshly to the ground.
